Favourite: Khalil Gibran’s The Prophet

This is my absolute favourite book. It is a book of 26 prose poetry essays of Almustafa’s journey who discusses topics such as love, joy and sorrow, self-knowledge, prayer, amongst other things with people. I definitely recommend you to get it.

Words are so beautifully crafted and assembled for us readers. They have so much meaning and depth of knowledge in them. You get a lot more than what you expect from it. I’m so glad that my aimless browsing of bookstores paid off when I came across this. I adore literature and everything about it. It surprised me that I did not know about Gibran or his work earlier.

I travel everywhere with it and have a read whenever. I have gone through this book so many times and I still get something new or something hits home harder even more. As they are divided according to the topics, you can easily pick and choose what you want to read at that moment in time. I normally don’t like to highlight or make any notes in my books. But I made an exception in this because so many of his words mean so much to me.

“And in much of your talking, thinking is half murdered.”
